  • i made a giant rock 101 banner out of bed sheets and 6 cans of spray paint! that was the easy part. I live in Port Alberni on Vancouver Island and me and my boyfriend decided to hang the sign over the Cameron Lake tressel that can be seen across the lake from Highway 4 between Nanaimo and Port alberni. its an hour walk to the tressel from a campsite by the highway because the lake is really long and skinny. we walked out to hang it and as we were hanging it i stood up and my car keys fell out of my pocket a 100 foot drop!! so we had to climb down the mountain and look for them, 45 minutes of prickle bushes later we only found the electric clicker and no keys. then when we climbed back up and we must not have had enough tape because the sign ripped half off but we were way too tired to fix it not to mention we had used the whole roll. so i had to call my mom to bring me the spare and walk back. a couple days later we went back to fix it, this is when i got my pictures, although ill tell you its terrifying leaning off the tressel to try to get a good shot of the sign, by the time we made the walk back to the car for the second time and drove down the highway to get a picture the wind flipped the sign up and we couldnt see it. the next day we went back and got my mom to drive and wait on the other side of the lake to FINALLY get a good picture of our sign but when we got there someone stole it!!! all the rocks we lined the top of it with were in a pile and the duct tape was hacked off. needless to say i was extremely dissapointed. we had some really bad luck trying to enter this contest lol but i figured I would still enter because we went through all that trouble for the sign to hang for only a few hours ! and i didnt want to have hung off the tressel for nothing!

  • to courier for Trev Deeley Motor cycles around ten years ago, and heard on 101 you guys where doing a broad cast from the roof of trev deeley’s so I got a can of spray paint and painted Rock 101on the roof. This same truck has been driving around the lower mainland for over 10 years, with ROCK 101 on the roof. To this day I’am still working with 101 on the roof. Cheers
