My rock fantasy:
Playing keyboards and singing in Pink Floyd, going on a two year world tour with them playing sold out stadiums, being right in the middle of that incredible storm of sheer rock power night after night. Goodness, I'm getting all heated up just thinking about it...
Why I should be the Classic Rock 101 Rock Girl:
Unlike a lot of women, I play rock and roll onstage as well as listen to it and go to concerts. I've been struggling in the trenches of indie rock for 6 years and I have given everything for the chance to play rock and roll with my band. I know there's almost no chance of glory and fame, but that doesn't matter to me. It feels (and sounds) so amazing to be in the middle of a swirling hurricane of distorted guitars and throbbing kick drum. It's my drug. My experience as a female in the male dominated field of rock has equipped me with a thick skin and an ability to be 'one of the guys', dishing out sarcasm and insults with the best of 'em. As far as I can tell, hanging out with Bro Jake every morning is very similar to being trapped in a van with stinky rock man-boys day after day. This I have done many times!
