The trip... Touring by motorcycle for me is just as much about the destination as it is about the ride. This past Monday I made the trip from Mont St Anne (outside Quebec City) to Hotel Sacacomie overlooking Lac Sacacomie. The reason, Honda Canada's press launch for two bikes in their adventure segment: The Honda Varadero and the CBF1000. What a trip, and what a ride. The quaint french towns with their houses close to the road and impressive churches, the winding (though sometimes weather- beaten) roads through the stunning Quebec countryside. Ahhhhh..it was enough to make you slow down and take it all in. Arriving at Hotel Sacacomie, the place was impressive. A rustic (no tv's... yay) cedar post and beam constructed resort complete with the welcoming hint of woodsmoke and the trophies of the hunt adorning the walls. I took some time to sit on the expansive deck off 'ma chambre', breathing in the scent of the spring melt giving way to trees forcing their buds after a long winter's chill. It truly was a feast for the senses, the dead calm of the lake and the call of birds mixing with the distant sound of a lumberjack's saw. At night I fell asleep...
