Two Rivers Specialty meats has long been supplying some of Vancouver’s finest restaurants with ethical and sustainable meat. Now they have opened a public facing butcher shop and eatery called not surprisingly, Two Rivers Meats.
The idea was originally dreamed up in a yellow school bus that owners Jason Pleym and his Margot lived in on the shores of the Kicking Horse River.
You’ll find a traditional working butchery with a beautiful glass walled dry age room, European style deli and take away counter plus a 32 seat eat-in restaurant.
Now Vancouver can source their meats like the restaurants do. The variety is huge from superb quality beef to chicken to home made sausages ( I loved the elk) to delicious broths and excellent rotisserie chicken and hand cut fries cooked in beef tallow.
There is also a rotating selection of B.C. beers, wines and ciders.
The staff will also offer recipe suggestions for your purchase. I can personally and highly recommend this place.
