Hi it’s Robin LaRose. Big fan of Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders tour (with Stevie Nicks). She’s still got the intensity, passion and commitment to each performance like it’s her last. she’s ferocious and unapologetic.
So’s her band “Pretenders”. It is one driven, tight, intense unit that rages through an hour of legendary songs Chrissie wrote decades ago. It’s impressive to watch a powerhouse group with so much history and drama pull that off after 30+ yrs.
Here’s the RUB (or the drama) Cell phones during the performance. The Pretenders have a no phones policy (it’s clearly posted on signs at the venues (see above) , including the Irish Village in Dubai on October 26th. According to the National.ae cellphone users in the crowd started pissing Chrissie off in the middle of the band’s first song of the night, and the battle continued through out the performance.
Finally, after repeated warnings, Chrissie barked: ‘If you keep using your phones, then I’m not singing and you can listen to us playing,'” one audience member told the paper. “And so she stopped singing and at the end of that particular song, she said ‘Well, take a [expletive] picture of this’ and she and the band walked off stage.”
Clearly, fans not impressed either.
