Stevie Wonder, Roger Waters, Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews and Pharrell were among many others to “take a knee” on stage Sunday supporting over 100 NFL players who were responding to Donald Trump’s comments last Friday condemning athletes who protested during the “star spangled banner”
Roger Waters ended his concert in Hartford, Connecticut Sunday night by taking a minute-long knee with his band.
During the Global Citizen festival (concert for Charlottesville) Sunday, Dave Matthews, Pharrell and Stevie Wonder “took the knee” during their respective sets.
During Eddie Vedder’s set at the Pilgrimage Fest in Tennessee, he “took a knee” in front of the audience centre stage. Earlier Sunday, Pearl Jam also released a statement supporting the Seattle Seahawks, who remained in the locker room during “The Star-Spangled Banner”.
