The largest asteroid in more than a century will fly past Earth tomorrow (September 1st) at the unusually close distance of 4.4 million miles, according to NASA.
The asteroid is named Florence after Florence Nightingale – the founder of modern nursing and is 2.7 miles wide. NASA said, “This pass by the Earth will be Florence’s closest since 1890, and it won’t be this close again until after 2500.”
