Hey it’s Scott Alan,
In the unprecedented chaos and destruction happening in the wake of the wildfires burning across southern British Columbia, the airlines are stepping up to help those affected.
With evacuations now in place, Air Canada announced yesterday that anyone with a ticket in or out of the affected areas will be able to change their flight without paying a penalty until July 22. They’re also offering a 25 per cent discount to anyone flying out of Kamloops, Kelowna, Penticton, Prince George, or Williams Lake due to the state of emergency.
Westjet is offering a 50% discount on tickets out of Prince George to any domestic market. They’ve also said tickets issued on or before July 9 for travel through July 19 will be eligible for flexibility on date changes or cancellations.
