Happy birthday Quentin! There’s been a lot of talk about Mr. Tarantino quitting after making ten movies. I’m not exactly sure what making ten movies means to Mr. Tarantino, as I did a little research and found he has directed 12 movies since 1987. He has written 18, produced 17 and acted in 28.
Here’s a list of my favourites in no particular order he has directed:
1. Reservoir Dogs. 1992.
2. Pulp Fiction. 1994.
3. Jackie Brown. 1997.
4. Kill Bill Vol. 1. 2003.
5. Kill Bill Vol. 2. 2004.
6. Sin City. 2005.
7. Grindhouse with Death Proof. 2007.
8. Inglourious Basterds. 2009.
9. Django Unchained. 2012.
10. The Hateful Eight. 2015.
Quentin Tarantino also wrote and starred in Robert Rodriguez’s “From Dusk Till Dawn” (1996) one of many collaborations between them—which attained cult status and spawned several sequels, in which they served as executive producers.
Quentin also guest starred in some TV shows you might not be aware of. He played an Elvis Presley impersonator on “The Golden Girls” in 1988. Go to 4:40 in the video below to see him dressed in white in the back row. He also hosted Saturday Night Live in 1995 with musical act Smashing Pumpkins.
If you had some say in the last couple of movies to be created by Quentin Tarantino… What would they be? I’d love to see “Kill Bill Vol.3. There’s been some talk of a 1930’s Bonnie and Clyde movie set in Australia. Another big topic is the year 1970 and the history of cinema. Mr. Tarantino states “It could be a book, a documentary, or a five-part podcast.”
Here’s a little treat for all of you Tarantino movie fans.
