Hey it’s Scott Alan,
Apparently yoga pants are hurting the environment.
A New York Post article sites researchers who blame clothes like yoga pants and sweat-wicking athletic items. These clothes are made from synthetic materials that shed microscopic plastic fibers called “microfibers” when they’re laundered. Microfibers eventually reach our waterways and then the ocean where they can apparently end up in the stomachs of marine animals.
Improvements to washing machines may be needed to reduce plastic waste in our oceans.
