Hey it’s Scott Alan,
Atta boy Eddie!
Eddie Van Halen has donated 75 guitars from his personal collection to the non-profit Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation.
Van Halen, along with foundation president Felice Mancini spoke about the importance of the program which will hand out the guitars to low-income schools. “It’s a must. It has to be taught. My whole life has been music. I could not imagine anything else.”
Eddie went on to say: “Music is such a necessity. It touches people’s souls. Music is the universal language to me. It transcends everything.” Felice Mancini added: “The kids share the guitars. They learn, they graduate and then the instruments stay in the school.”
