With the sudden passing of ELP keyboard legend Keith Emerson few weeks back, ELP drummer Carl Palmer has announced he’ll do an 18 date tour this summer to honor the memory of his friend and bandmate. Emerson died March 11th at his home in Santa Monica California. He was 71.
Palmer’s tour (Rememberi ng Keith – The Music of ELP Tour) starts June 2nd in NY and runs for 18 shows thru july 12th in Dallas with a a special show June 24th at Miami’s Olympia Theater, “Pictures at an Exhibition — A Tribute To Keith Emerson,” which will feature special guests and performances from the Center for Contemporary Dance.
Carl says: “I will deeply miss Keith and I want you all to know I will carry on flying the ELP banner and playing the great music with my band for many years to come. We have lost a very talented and gifted musician but this great music will continue for a long, long time.”
