Hi’ it’s Robin LaRose;
So Cuba was the place to have fun this past weekend. (mar25) The Rolling Stones played a FREE historic concert in Havana on Friday. It’s first time a band of this calbre has played Cuba and in front of 500k people. There hasn’t been anything this big since Castro rolled into the city in 1959. The concert was made possible by the generous help of “Fundashon Bon Intenshon, which as their bio says: “is a foundation for good intention”. Founded in 1990 and established in Curacao , the organization gets involved in many charitable projects in the fields of education, athletics, cultural literacy and healthcare.
The concert was being billed as: “The Concert For Amity” and was filmed for release later this year.(hopefully sooner than later) The Stones are also at the front of a charge for a musician-to-musician initiative, which will distribute much needed musical instruments and equipment for the benefit of Cuban musicians of any and all genres. As they say, “you can’t always get what you want but sometimes you get what you need”.
