This is an unreal story… a Basset hound named Phoebe and a Setter mix named Tillie, went missing September 8 and as days went by without a trace, their Washington State owners feared the worst.
But something amazing happened, a ‘reddish’ dog was spotted coming up to residents of a private property but would then disappear back into the ravine, that’s when the Vashon Island Pet Protectors (VIPP) got word of the sighting. It was a long shot but they decided to check out the area… They called out for the dogs, and all of a sudden heard a one-woof response. The volunteers came upon Tillie who had her head resting on the cement wall of an old cistern, and to their surprise, in the cistern was Phoebe….
Tillie had waited with Phoebe for 5 full days, only leaving for minutes a day to run up to peoples properties in hopes someone might follow her down. What a story!!!! Warms the heart doesn’t it?
Dogs are as loyal as they come, obviously.
