The Oscar winner and star of modern classics like Good Morning, Vietnam, Dead Poets Society and Mrs. Doubtfire died by suicide a year ago today. Though he privately wrestled with addictions and illness, including a form of dementia that may have contributed to his death, Williams was – and still is – a vivid presence for family and fans. he is remembered all over the world today.
On August 11, 2014, Williams committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Paradise Cay, California. It was revealed shortly after his death that Williams had been suffering from severe depression, Parkinson’s disease, and diffuse Lewy body dementia.
This is a lovely tribute put together the day after his death.
Take a look.
