Wow. You can’t make this stuff up.
At 1,028 pounds, Mayra Rosales was so obese that she was unable to walk or bathe herself. Mayra lived in Houston, Texas and was described by many as the “world’s fattest woman” — but that wasn’t her only nickname…
Mayra was also known to many as the “Half-Ton Killer.” She was accused by Texas police of having killed her young nephew by crushing him to death with her body. Facing capital charges and being in terrible physical condition, Mayra did one of the most shocking things of all — she transformed her life.
Not only is she now unrecognizable following an unbelievable physical transformation, but when the truth came out about who was really behind her nephew’s death, I was totally floored.
Mayra’s incredible story and the photos of her mind-boggling weight loss are absolutely amazing.
At over 1,000 pounds, Mayra Rosales was completely helpless, requiring her family to help her do most normal activities, including washing herself.
She developed severe bedsores, as well as diabetes. But her weight wasn’t the only problem.
Mayra confessed to police that she had accidentally killed her nephew by crushing him to death with her body. Mayra was charged with murder, but something didn’t seem quite right…
In order to take her to court, a giant hole had to be cut in the side of her house, and she had to be transported using a moving truck. Against unbelievable odds, Mayra decided it was time to save her own life by confessing the real truth about her nephew’s death and shedding the excess weight.
Mayra cleared her name by confessing that she was innocent of her nephew’s death. She admitted that she was covering for her sister who had been abusing the young boy, which had eventually resulted in his death. Now free of all charges and with her sister in prison, Mayra set her sights on her next big goal: losing the weight.
And she did! With the help of doctors, several surgeries, diet, and exercise, Mayra lost nearly 800 pounds (over 80% of her body weight)!
Mayra’s “after” pictures are truly unbelievable. Now, years later, she is free of diabetes and has her weight (and her life) back under control.
