Did you know that footwear is incredibly important for those of us who suffer with Diabetes?
A Canadian rock star knows that.
Canadian rock legend Myles Goodwyn of April Wine, has joined forces with the Canadian Diabetes Association to help provide footwear to homeless people in our community and help those living with diabetes.
People with diabetes have to take special care of their feet, a simple cut could lead to an infection and amputation explains Goodwynn, who lives with the disease. “That can happen to anybody and as a diabetic if you can’t to take care of your feet you are going to be in big trouble. Forget all the other things you must to do take care of yourself but it really kind of starts with the feet. The feet really have to be protected.”
His program is called the Soleful Caring campaign and Goodwyn is hoping it will be successful right across the country. “Men, women and children that are homeless. The homeless people, they don’t necessarily have to be living in an ally. They can be just like couch surfing and all that kind of stuff. They don’t have a home. They are always looking for shelter somewhere.”
Thanks for being a good guy, Myles!
