Hey it’s Scott Alan,
Apparently David Letterman had a few ideas in mind regarding who his replacement as host of the Late Show should have been. The comedian is profiled in a new piece for The New York Times where he discusses passing the torch after 23 years. “I always thought Jon Stewart would have been a good choice. And then Stephen (Colbert).”
Letterman also says, “I know I can’t do what Jimmy Fallon’s doing. I know I can’t do what Jimmy Kimmel is doing. There’s nothing left to be worried about.” He goes on to say that he wasn’t pushed out of the job because of the younger competition and adds, “I’m 68. If I was 38, I’d probably still be wanting to do the show.”
Such an innovator. I’m sure going to miss Dave! His last episode as host will air on May 20th.
