Twisted Sister drummer AJ Pero has died at the age of 55 after he was found unresponsive on a tour bus in Poughkeepsie, New York. No cause has been revealed.
A native of Staten Island, New York, Pero began drumming at the age of 3 and took lessons from jazz legend Gene Krupa. He became somewhat of a prodigy, having appeared on both the Mike Douglas Show and the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon by the time he was 10.
Pero joined Twisted Sister in 1982 after they had gone through a series of drummers. He was with the band when they broke through with their album Stay Hungry in 1984.
