How many of you know what type of tire is on your vehicle? Are you driving with all season radials? Do you change from winter to summer tires each year?
Walking into a tire store can be a little overwhelming. There’s summer, winter, all season, studs, wet weather, performance and all-terrain. The list goes on and on. Most people use all-season tires. They’re pretty much standard with good traction and tread wear. Performance all-season tires are rated higher for speed, with better braking and handling. The sportier cars can go a step higher and use ultra-performance tires. As I said earlier, the list goes on and on.
If you’re noticing any of the following traction issues while driving:
- Losing control when changing lanes, while driving in wet conditions.
- Tough time getting traction after stopping on a hill and then trying to pull forward.
- Hydroplaning on wet roads.
It may be time to start looking at some new tires.
